write-the-case-analysis-1

Assignment Instructions

The exercise for week 2 will be a case analysis related to hospitality law in the United States and the hotel’s refusal of guests. Research current articles using the Internet or databases to choose a specific case for analysis. If you select a court case or hearing from another country, you will need to compare and contrast the key issues and outcomes of that case with American law.

For the assignment, you are being tasked with providing evaluation, analysis, or critique. The task is not to provide an outline, timeline, or case brief. When relevant, motions and proceedings can be identified, but the focus is on identifying the legal issue presented (not a procedural question) and discussing the arguments and decisions made in relation to that issue. The writing does not need to convey agreement with any decision and should be an objective, unbiased assessment of the legal issue, relevant law or precedent, and the outcome. Demonstrate your understanding of the outcome.

If a case was dismissed on a technicality or procedural question, you can mention, but you still need to assess the validity of the question and what may have been decided.

The analysis will be presented in essay form using APA writing standards. The following segments can be used to organize your writing; introduction to the case, the issue, the facts, the court’s decision and the reasoning for the decision (1 section), your analysis, and conclusion.

  • Written communication: Written communication is free of errors that detract from the overall message.
  • APA formatting: Resources and citations are formatted according to APA (6th edition) style and formatting.
  • Font and font size: Times New Roman, 12 point.
  • Length: 700 demonstrating learning, research, and analysis.
