Evidence-Based Practices (EBPs) and research are critical components of the healthcare industry. As the adoption of evidence-based practices grows, it is critical that the driving motivation behind these changes is to improve our patients’ health, safety, and general well-being. Evidence-based practices must be widely disseminated. Evidence-based practice findings can be published in professional journals and presented at nursing conferences. Nursing journals are valuable to healthcare professionals because the material contained in them allows them to stay updated as well as participate in new evidence-based practices as they become available. Finally, being educated through nursing journals will assist nurses to guarantee that they are doing everything possible to support their patients’ overall health and safety. The Journal of Nursing Research and Practice is a professional publication that this nurse would use to share the evidence-based modifications she has uncovered. The Journal of Nursing Research and Practice, in my opinion, is an adequate journal to use for dissemination because it “is a peer-reviewed. Journal targeted at researching creative tactics in the field of patient care and Nursing” (Journal of Nursing Research and Practice, n.d.). Nursing conferences are another means to communicate knowledge about evidence-based practices. Nursing conferences provide nurses with the opportunity to engage in a controlled setting in which they can broaden their expertise, resulting in better patient outcomes. Because this nurse’s speciality is on a Medical-Surgical unit, she believes that The Annual Medical-Surgical Nursing Convention would be an acceptable venue for dissemination. Finally, by networking with other nurses who work in the same specialty, this conference can help to facilitate assistance. Furthermore, it enables nurses to gain understanding of evidence-based practices through education. As a result, this nurse might use the conference to highlight the necessity of addressing nursing staffing shortages, as well as recommended solutions.
