As part of your research conversation this week, I asked a potentially provocative question – why isn’t ALL research using mixed-methods? For your exit ticket this week, reflect on (and draw from) what you read in the Johnson & Onweugbuzie and Wilkinson & Staley (2019) readings to answer that question. What considerations might make us think twice about just adopting a philosophy of going mixed-methods, all the time? How do we distinguish between GOOD mixed-methods research, and potentially BAD mixed-methods research?
