1.To make effective decisions as a leader, I would first focus on understanding the problem. Understanding the problem is critical. One must understand what is causing the problem, for how long it has been causing the problem, and what else is affecting when it’s causing the problem. My second move would be to analyze my options. What can be done to avoid or minimize the problem? What changes could I, as a leader, make to help my team and the organization? I would compare all outcomes and pick the most effective solution for the whole team. Next, I would put my option into action and would keep a close eye on the outcomes it would give me. As a leader, I would consistently evaluate the outcome results of my decision to ensure the decision made was effective.

Making poor decisions as a leader could negatively impact the patients, my team, and the organization I work for. Therefore, it is critical to ensure each decision I make is effective by benchmarking the outcomes through tools such as outcome ratios or surveys. Poor decision making can cause the organization to gain a poor reputation and lose business.
