We will meet next on Wednesday, Nov 13th. Come to class with a FULL draft of your Persuasive Speech: introduction, transitions, body, conclusion. This should be 6 to 7 pages and follow the specific MMS outline format I provided in class and on Canvas. We will do a writing prompt worth points AND coming to class with your full draft is worth points.

I will finally have your Informative Speeches graded (thank you for your patience).

Persuasive Speeches will be presented Monday 11/18 and Wednesday 11/20. Outlines will be turned in on Canvas on Monday 11/18 right before class and should follow the requirements I have spelled out.

  • You will include a “References” page which will have minimum 5 library sources that you have cited within your speeches. You can have additional references that are not library sources as long as you have at minimum 5 library resources.
  • Every piece of information you obtain from other sources and use in your speech should all be cited within the outline as well as be part of your reference page. For two of those citations, you will use and follow the 4-step process we discussed in class and which I included in the outline I handed out and which I have also attached here. Please highlight where you have done this. Remember, all your sources should always be cited somewhere in your speech. This is how you give credit to those who had the original ideas.
  • Also, you will use imagery in your speeches – rich, descriptive text that lets us see, hear, taste, smell, and/or feel what it is you are sharing with us. There should be at least three sentences of imagery. Please underline your imagery so I know where to find it.
  • It should be global, and at least mention 3 countries you should talk about. Follow the attached file, wanted the same structure.
