Instructions:

Analyze and explain the behavior of a deviant individual you have been assigned to study. (This will be a person who has been labeled and sanctioned as a deviant. You may or may not agree that the person should be seen as a deviant.) In order to do this project, you will first need to gather information about: a) the life and experiences of the deviant, in as much detail as possible; b) current scholarly literature about the kind of behavior the individual engaged in; and c) the frequency, circumstances, and treatment of this kind of behavior in general.

Once you have completed this research, you will be able to consider how well current theories of deviant behavior and social control account for your deviant’s conduct.

Your finished product should use all of the information you have gathered to answer the following questions:
1. How common is the behavior of your deviant, in the contemporary United States and elsewhere?
2. How typical is your deviant of all people who commit this behavior?
3. Would your deviant appear to be deviant in other cultures as well as our own?

Minimum of 3 pages MLA format and a citation page not included in the three page of research paper.
