home-work-4-1

By now, you should have a clear idea of your thesis for your final project. In order to strengthen the argument, you need to consider a counterargument, which should be included in the final version of your project.

  1. What is your thesis statement as of now?
  2. What do you consider to be a strong or serious counter-argument to your thesis statement? Be specific. Give this two or three sentences at least.
  3. What are the reasons for the counter-argument’s strength? Is yours a counter-argument based on an exception to a rule, a fact about the world, a different ethical/theoretical approach, a contrast between views? Be specific. Give this two or three sentences at least.
  4. Last, of course, how do you keep your thesis and argument intact while responding to the counter-argument? Again, give it a couple of sentences.
