This was a tough one to articulate. As a fairly new teacher, I liked the template as it allowed me to further investigate all elements within my disposal. The reason for my instructional design is because I teach at a title one school. I am located in Houston, Texas area and it is very rural and most of the children I teach are labeled as homeless. So in some instance I keep the instruction simple for them. Note taking in journals is often frowned upon die in nature to the students disconnect with the need to survive rather than trying to learn. In the first lesson, what makes it essential is opening up the class with some entertainment on what they will learn down the road. At the same time, I use collaboration, student lead activities, one on one reteaching and re-teaching in certain contents. This lesson plan was created based on the first day of content learning, usually a week after school has begun.
