Purpose

The purpose of this assignment is to consider our health care system and its effects.

If you haven’t already, watch the videos watch the videos down below. Using the information from the Ted Talks and your reading, think about how you would assess the community described by Haas & Hahn. Then, write a substantive paper in approximately 500 words addressing the questions and criteria below. (Follow APA guidelines as is appropriate when citing and referencing sources.)

Consider:

What kind of community is this?

What theory would it be based upon?

Assess each of the different aspects of the community presented using the framework discussed in the text (pages 395 – 398 in the 4th edition)

How is power gained and used in this community?

What role would social workers play in the empowerment and maintenance of this community?
