Why do you believe it is important to understand the needs of your employees?

This assignment has 3 parts:

In 1943 Abraham Maslow proposed that individuals have five basic needs, arranged in a hierarchy from lowest to highest they are physiological, safety, love, esteem, and self-actualization. David McClelland focused on a needs-based theory which proposed that individuals have three basic needs: the need for achievement, the need for affiliation, and the need for power. The needs described in both these theories are often used by managers during the motivation and goal-setting process with employees.

Why do you believe it is important to understand the needs of your employees? How will this benefit the organization?
As a manager what are the basic needs that could be fulfilled by the organization if the Maslow theory is used? What are the needs that fall in line with the McClelland theory?
How can the needs listed be turned into motivation to help the employee succeed?

Poor peer relations are associated with discomfort, anxiety, and a general unwillingness to engage the environment

Good Afternoon,

I need help in answering the following DBP Question:

As children begin to physically mature into adults, there is a corresponding emphasis on peer relationships. Below are six aspects of child development and peer relations I want you to be aware of (See “Peer Relations and Child Development” slide on the attached handout):

–Poor peer relations are associated with discomfort, anxiety, and a general unwillingness to engage the environment

–Children master their aggressive impulses within the context of peer relations

–Sexual socialization cannot take place in the absence of peer interaction

–Peer relations are related to role-taking ability, empathy, and moral reasoning

–Children who are rejected by their peers are at greater risk for delinquency, school dropout, & mental-health problems

–Friendships are critical because they provide opportunities for learning social skills & a beginning sense of group belonging

As a response to this post, choose one of these six observations and expand on it. Why is socialization important for healthy development?

Applying Theory to Prevent the Spread of Organized Crime

M3_A2 Organized Crime

Assignment 2: Applying Theory to Prevent the Spread of Organized Crime

LASA 1

Your first LASA is a means for you to demonstrate your knowledge of applicable theories in explaining organized criminal behavior. You will use your knowledge pertaining to the history of organized crime to develop a practical approach to stop the spread of organized crime groups. You will identify and classify the different groups to determine which groups present the greatest threat to public safety. You will select a theory and apply it to explain the existence of organized crime groups.

This LASA is designed for you to demonstrate your knowledge of the organized criminal behavior theory. By assessing the threat to public safety, you will use your knowledge of this history of organized crime as the foundation to develop a practical approach towards reducing the growth of four organized crime groups in Centervale. Selecting a theory that attempts to explain organized criminal behavior will provide a scaffolding for your presentation.

Here’s What You Need to Do . . .

You will assume the role of an Organized Crime Investigator. You have worked as an investigator for 18 years and have a thorough working knowledge of various theories that attempt to explain criminal behavior (no theory explains anything entirely; all theories can be tested, refuted, etc.). Because organized criminal enterprise consistently threatens public safety, your supervisor has tasked you with the responsibility of researching and analyzing four organized crime groups in order to create an Organized Criminal Enterprise Reduction Plan for Centervale. The goal is to create a presentation that includes an overall analysis of four organized crime groups, a comparison of the variables of each group, a selected related criminological/sociological theory that address the existence of organized crime in your area, and a potential plan towards the reduction of the threat to public safety.

Instructions:

  1. Analyze the history of organized crime.
  2. Research and select at least one theory that attempts to explain the criminal actions of organized crime groups selected by you. Choose at least one theory that attempts to explain organized criminal behavior.
  3. Compare and contrast at least four organized crime groups that operate within the United States and analyze their threat potential to public safety.
  4. Prepare a Microsoft PowerPoint presentation with speaker notes for a group of local, state, and federal law enforcement officers that includes an overall analysis of four organized crime groups, a comparison of the variables of each group, and a potential plan towards the reduction of the threat to public safety.
  5. Include a cover slide and at least one slide at the end of your presentation to reference your sources formatted in APA style that links back to your in-text citations and supports your recommendations. Remember, you cannot have only in-text citations or only references, you must have both because in-text citations and references are adjoined; they link to each other.

Submission Details:

  • Save the final presentation as M3_A2_Lastname_Firstname.ppt.
  • By the due date assigned, submit your final presentation to the Submissions Area.

progress of health care reform efforts in the US history  starting with the early 1900s detailing the role of Presidents’  attempting to pass health care reform.

Current Scenario of Health Insurance Plans

Currently, in the United States, an individual is not required to  purchase a health insurance plan. However, according to Section 1501 of  the PPACA, beginning in 2014, “Individuals will be required to maintain  minimum essential coverage beginning in 2014. Failure to maintain  coverage will result in a penalty of $95 in 2014, $350 in 2015, $750 in  2016 and indexed thereafter.”

Currently, employers are not required to provide health insurance  coverage to their employees. However, in 2014, the employers’  responsibility in health insurance coverage will change, according to  the PPACA. This is the latest update in a long line of US health care  reform efforts.

Using South University Online Library or the Internet, search on the  topic of latest health care reforms. On the basis of your research and  your understanding of the topic, answer the following questions:

  • Track the progress of health care reform efforts in the US history  starting with the early 1900s detailing the role of Presidents’  attempting to pass health care reform.
  • Give your views on the AALL’s efforts to pass National Health Reform.
  • What are the issues of culture, politics, and special interests in  the United States that have made health care reform difficult to  achieve?
  • Of these three issues, which issue do you find to be the most difficult to overcome? Why?
  • What is path dependency? What has this been an issue in health reform? How can the power of inertia be overcome?
  • What are the advantages and disadvantages of PPACA that was passed in 2010?
