Content warning: This book treats questions of death, depression, and ending of one’s life.

Answer the following questions: List five things about Qiu’s novel that you appreciated or enjoyed, and five things that made you uncomfortable or that you did not like. Would you feel differently about the novel if it was written by your best friend? What would be different if Qiu wrote the novel today? If you were going to write a novel about your experience of life at a foreign university, what would you write?
