Answer the following questions.

Chapter 26

1) President Roosevelt is credited for greatly expanding the role of the Presidency. Explain how the Great Depression affected Roosevelt’s presidency and in effect, how it changed the U.S.

Chapter 27

2) Section 27.1 talks about the international issues that led to war…give some examples about what tension was brewing. Following that, what was America’s response to WW2?

3) When America joined WW2 overseas, how did this specifically change the country at home?

4) From section 27.3 and 27.4, first discuss some issues that American soldiers dealt with in World War II; and with the end of WW2, the narrative of the Atomic bomb begins. Science and warfare now converge to bring a completely different kind of weapon. In your opinion, should a nuclear bomb ever be dropped in order to end a war?
