Based on the case of Angela, I didn’t judge her because, in everyday work, people have to deal with various stresses since morning to the evening when they get from work. Not everyone is capable of handling stress in the right way as everyone has the right to make a choice and decisions which make sense to their lives. I, therefore, understand the reason why Angela takes some wine, and this is because she wants to relieve stress after work. Even though we all make decisions in our lives, we need to make the right ones, those that will not affect our body negatively. The habit of drinking small wines may not be a problem at first, but it is of great concern as time goes by. Hangover and jittery are signs of tolerance and withdrawal, and this made me feel concerned about her. She started drinking small, but now she has advanced, not only drinking a glass of wine, but now in getting together, she takes bottles.
Addiction is an issue of concern as it is difficult for a person to know that they are addicted. It begins slowly with a taste, progressing to a glass, then to a bottle and finally taking several bottles. As time goes by, the body develops tolerance, in that the same amount of alcohol cannot be effective to induce a relaxation feeling. An individual has to add more to achieve the desired feelings, and this is what Angela has been facing. There is a need for alarm since jittery is a sign of withdrawal, and it shows that Angela is already dependent on alcohol. At this stage, there are higher chances of addiction and the only way she can quit the habit is to reduce the amount of wine taken and also, avoid such companies with peers who will force her drink more.
