response-to-question-8

I need a 100-150 word response to the below statement:

Class,

Geographical location is very important to businesses , some locations are within a city where there is an abundance distribution choices to choose from, whereas in a rural setting there are few choices. This affects pricing, the pricing is dependent on availability, amount needed, amount available and distance product has to travel. I work in the railroad industry that thrives on bulk moves of product. We have thousands of customers that depend on us to deliver millions of tons of product annually. Companies and communities benefit from railroads because we can deliver hundreds of thousands tons of product in one delivery. All though there has to be railroad tracks to deliver, some communities don’t have rail roads that run through them making it hard to utilize. These communities rely on truck services, which is the most feasible distribution choice. For those communities that don’t have road access, they rely on air transportation. All three have a cost associated to them, as stated earlier rail roads have the ability to transport hundreds of thousands tons of product at one time. Rail road distribution benefits the company that needs a lot of product at once, rail roads are generally the most cost effective if no variables exists. Truck distribution is for companies that need less product at once or needs product where there is no rail roads, making trucking the second most cost effective dependent on variables. Air distribution is the most expensive, but, needed for communities that have no rail or road access such as an island or communities in remote locations like Alaska.
