For this discussion, first read Chapters 7 and 8 from your textbook and watch the following TED Talk from Susan Cain: The Power of Introverts (18:56). As you read and watch, think about the value that the trait theory perspective has brought to personality psychology. Think also about your own personality traits.

Then, in your initial post, address the following:

• How do the trait theory perspectives of Allport, Eysenck, and Cattell differ? Do you feel their research was conducted ethically? Why or why not?
• Choose one of the Big Five personality traits discussed in Chapter 8 (openness to experience, conscientiousness, extraversion, agreeableness, and neuroticism). Where do you think you fall on the continuum for that trait? Do you consider this to be an important aspect of your personality?
• Do you think there are certain preferred traits or ideal trait combinations?
