1- I have been a psych RN for 8 years having received my associates and bachelorettes degree from Quincy College then Curry College. I am a divorced, single mom to five children, two of whom are now adults pursuing degrees of their own, one of which I am proud to say is a nursing degree. Currently, I am working full-time nights 11p-7a on an adult psych unit at Metrowest Medical Center. To say I have my hands full is an understatement, but it has served me well all these years. What would you advice this student for the evidence base practice class?
2- My career in this noble profession of ours started eight years ago, when I realized that we were losing our future to substance abuse. Many of the youth in my community were gradually being eliminated before they could reach their fullest potential to this silent killer. I realized that I had a role to play to become a part of the solution. This is what informed my decision to enroll in this program with the goal to become a Nurse Practitioner. I want be able to provide quality care to my patients. Write a comment on this student.
