• Competency 1: You analyze the ethical, legal, and regulatory aspects of an evidence-based nursing practice issue. You define the problem and outline a proposal to address the issue. You also analyze qualitative and quantitative data to determine the frequency and risk of the identified problem as well as provide its scope and significance.
• Competency 2: You research best practices to identify an effective intervention for a selected problem, gathering evidence to support an effective strategy. The recommended strategy and actions to solve the problem will meet measurable and time-bound goals and outcomes and will include an implementation and evaluation plan.
• Competency 3: You examine the nurse leader’s role and impact on quality improvement in health care and will identify actions that a nurse leader would take to improve communication with stakeholders, train staff, create and manage a budget, establish a change management plan, and establish authority to effect positive change.
