From Hsieh’s media presence alone, evaluate him against your personal ILT profile and categorize him as a leader. What can you glean about his leadership style, traits, behaviors, priorities, etc.? How would you categorize him as a leader based on the various leadership theories covered in the course to date?

Organizational Application of Categorization

As with any exercise in leadership analysis and discovery, the findings can be readily applied to the organization. In this case, how might categorizing a well-known leader contribute to your perception of the successful organization and how it is led? Do you believe, based on your research of the theory, that this is an effective exercise? Why or why not? What are the implications of categorizing of a well-known leader based on his or her media presence alone?
