1. What happens when purpose for employees differs from purpose for organizations?

2. Inam (2012) wrote a great article on purpose. She stated that purpose is what separates managers from leaders includes our unique gifts that we bring every day to make the lives of others better. Sounds very applicable to Servant Leadership, doesn’t it! Inam identified several reasons for the incorporating purpose into a leader’s role. First, purpose deeply engages leaders; through purpose, leaders become invested in outcomes and energizes leaders to move through adversity. Second, purpose helps us engage others. Using a shared vision, leaders and followers work together to attain outcomes. Finally, purpose gives leaders personal power – this power helps leaders attain something bigger than ourselves.

I was thinking the positive impact of purpose…..what if we all embraced a purpose for today…..what power that would bring in impacting others.
