As the book describes qualitative research is used to answer question related to the how’s and why’s of behavior that are not usually explained through quantitative research (Schmidt, & Brown 2018). Qualitative research may be a sort of science research that collects and works with non-numerical data which seeks to interpret meaning from these data that help understand social life through the study of targeted populations or places (Crossman,2020). There are several ways of obtaining this research; direct observation, and example of this would be a researcher can observe the way strangers interact in public as they gather around to watch a street performer. Open ended survey is another method for obtaining research; One example, a survey might be used to investigate not just which political candidates’ voters chose, but why they chose them, in their own words (Crossman,2020). This is a good example due to being researchers being able to use observation methods. Quantitative research is defined as a scientific investigation or phenomena by collecting quantifiable data and performing statistical, mathematical, or computation methods. Quantitative research obtains information from existing and potential customers using sampling methods and sending out online surveys, online polls, questionnaires, basically all those adds you see on your computer (Bhat,2019). A good example of this would a customer satisfaction survey. An organization can obtain quantitative data on the company parameters such as quality, pricing, experience, ect. This a good example reason why , all of this data can be collected in form of numbers.
