Assessment of a Nursing Leadership Problem
This assignment is the first component of your course project. At one time or another, we have all experienced or observed situations where ineffective leadership skills and strategies were used. Think of a situation from either your current nursing position, or a previous nursing position where leadership was ineffective. Being mindful of maintaining confidentiality:
- Describe the nursing dynamics related to the problem. In other words, the situation, the people involved (without naming them), and why you believe leadership was ineffective.
- Choose a leadership strategy that you think would have been more appropriate to solving the problem, and support your choice with readings from the course or additional research.
- Explain why your choice would have been more effective. Include a description of the outcome you believe would have resulted from using this leadership style. Support your choice with references that follow proper APA format.
Writing Requirements
- Your paper must be at least 2–3 pages long, excluding the cover page and references.
- Use double spacing with one-inch margins.
- Use Times New Roman, 12-point font.
- Format the paper (including references) according to APA (6th edition) style and formatting guidelines
