In order to evaluate an evidence-based practice project, it is important to be able to determine the effectiveness of your change. Discuss one way you will be able to evaluate whether your project made a difference in practice.

My reply was……………………………..

Time is very critical in figuring out if a change that was made was actually effective and if it is working. It is not easy to conduct these projects because some take more time than others. To correctly and effectively evaluate whether a project is making a difference in the practice, there has to be different factors involved. One is communication, communicating with staff, patients, admininstrators and figuring out if it is working for them is important (Kourkouta & Papathanasiou, 2014). The researcher might be mainly focused on the change that they fail to see how much money is actually being wasted and this change may not in fact be a reasonable change. Also, it is important to measure outcomes appropriately which will need some time to do. Evaluating the outcomes on several patients with different amount of stay times will be crucial to appropriately conduct an evaluation of change.

There are many different factors that go into change and it does take time. The best way to get through it and have staff involved is by listening to them and asking what they think is best.
